The Healing Conspiracy Update- What’s Happening with Host Chris Pratt

Life is complex. Sometimes it takes an unexpected turn that changes absolutely everything.

For Chris Pratt—longtime educator, band director, administrator, husband, father of three daughters, and now host of The Healing Conspiracy on KPHRED Radio—that turn came in 2022 with a diagnosis of a rare form of cancer.

Since then, Chris has been fighting with everything he has, walking through valleys of pain, uncertainty, and loss of strength. But in the midst of it all, he has also discovered powerful truths:

People matter most. Life is a gift, and investing in one another makes it meaningful.

God is in control. His faith has carried him through the darkest nights.

The Battle Intensifies

In January 2025, after several years of progress, Chris’s health suddenly took a terrifying turn.

Severe head and neck pain brought him to the edge of life itself. During one critical episode, as his body began to shut down, he could only muster a few words for his wife and daughters:

“Please know that I love you very much.”

Doctors discovered his heart was pausing for several seconds at a time. He received an emergency pacemaker, only to then learn that the cancer had metastasized to his lungs and pelvic bone.

Despite the devastating news, Chris chose to fight back with intensive immune therapy. He returned to Tijuana, Mexico, where he had seen progress before. But this life-saving treatment was not covered by insurance.

With the support of friends, family, and donors, he began 12 weeks of therapy. Miraculously, his tumor shrank by 75%. Yet the cost of staying alive remains overwhelming.

Updates from the Front Lines

Chris has been transparent about sharing his journey:

• June 2025: After 34 days of therapy in Tijuana, he wrote that though the valley was deep and painful, God’s faithfulness was deeper still. He was grateful to return home to heal with his family by his side.

• August 2025: In his latest update, Chris shared that his body is still in tremendous pain. He now faces cancer cells traveling along nerve pathways, causing constant suffering. Some promising treatments are helping, but many are not covered by insurance.

He remains in and out of the hospital, yet his faith never wavers:

“The Holy Spirit keeps reminding me that He leads me in paths of righteousness even though it is through the valley of the shadow of death. I am not afraid. He is my comfort and strength.”
